Yuzu Dining Bar
A selection of custom work for Yuzu Dining Bar in Amsterdam, with a focus on material, atmosphere, and execution.
The original tabletops were made from separate boards with gaps in between, which proved less practical in a hospitality setting. We replaced them with fully glued solid iroko tops for a cleaner, more durable, and more practical result.
For the new bar, we first shortened the existing windowsill and remade it in solid iroko. The custom windowsill bar was then produced in dark-stained iroko and finished with three coats of Osmo. It creates additional seating while reinforcing the warm atmosphere of the restaurant.
For the installation of the new bronze mirrors, we first removed the existing wall finish and prepared a smooth, even surface. The mirrors were then installed in collaboration with Glashandel Actief in Amsterdam. To hide the seams between the mirrors, we installed slim iroko strips, stained and finished to match the rest of the interior.
